Again, it's a case of downsizing, but this time I had plenty of warning - he's in the process of retiring, and is only keeping a (much smaller) office open long enough to close out his remaining cases. I've been with him for just shy of four years, and known for at least the last one that the end was nigh.
I don't have anything else lined up yet, but I am hopeful. I have a good letter of recommendation from him (and another from my previous boss) and enough savings in the bank to last me (worst case) a couple of years, and that once unemployment runs out. I'd like to find work in the legal field again - I have a combined sixteen years of experience, and clerical work suits my skills and temperament. Fingers crossed.
